Grupo Gião - Web Dev
Summary
Redesigned Grupo Gião’s websites into a streamlined, brand-coherent system that improved reservations, UX, and cross-selling.
Context / Problem
The old WordPress site was chaotic: incoherent visuals, unoptimized assets, poor SEO, excessive plugins, and bad UX. This led to low online reservations, weak brand presence, and staff overloaded with calls.
Strategy
I defined the brand’s visual identity first, then stripped the sites back to essentials, keeping a clean black-and-white system that adapts to each venue’s unique aesthetic. Focused on UX, SEO, and functionality over decoration. Although I initially skipped mobile-first design, I corrected this later.
Results
- Majority of reservations now handled online instead of by phone
- Reduced staff workload and improved operations
- Stronger cross-selling between venues
- A simple, consistent brand system across all sites
Takeaways
Planning upfront is essential, winging it costs time later. This project sharpened my approach to balancing design, function, and business goals.
